After an on-call weekend, there is a long weekend for you the following week. The practice owners generously cover the Easter and Christmas on call; the remainder of public holidays are shared amongst the associate veterinarians on a fair rotation.

Where are we?
Orange is a prosperous regional city in the Central Tablelands of NSW with a population of approximately 45,000 people. We are a well-known fruit growing district producing great apples and cherries. Orange is now known as one of Australia’s premium cool climate wine regions. The development of Orange as a gourmet food capital has ensured Orange’s status as a prominent tourism destination. Our local food and wine festivals have become must-do events on the NSW tourism timetable.
Orange offers excellent public and private school education, University (Charles Sturt University) and TAFE. Childcare options available, including family day care, modern long day care centres and preschools.
Our community sporting facilities are first class and include an aquatic centre, excellent sporting grounds and indoor facilities. Orange has a mixture of clubs including swimming, athletics, cricket, rugby, triathlon, mountain biking, cycling, hockey, netball and basketball. If art or wine is your scene, rest assured you can find your people here.
In summary, we have great coffee, cafes, night life and casual-fine dining venues. The winters are often accompanied by snow – this makes performing a calving in winter a bit different, but sitting in front of a fire while it is snowing outside is always a cosy feeling that can be experienced in very few cities across the country. Our summers are pretty mild due to our high altitude meaning if is rare to get over 35’C.
The majority of staff here also share a love for our regular coffee run down-town – although not a must on the resume, it is an important part of our daily culture…
