Whether it’s discussing sports, sharing a laugh, or supporting each other professionally, our team is all about fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

We place a high priority on mental health and work-life balance. Whether you need to pick up the kids from school, volunteer on the weekends, or pursue hobbies like netball on a Wednesday night, we’re here to support your commitments. In return, we value flexibility and a team-player attitude.

  • Medical support: diagnostic radiology, pathology testing, and caring for hospitalized animals.
  • Client education: advising pet owners on nutrition, behaviour, and general animal care.
  • General duties: placing IV catheters, conducting discharge consultations, and ensuring the clinic remains clean and organized.

Receptionist Duties:

  • Greeting clients and their pets with a warm welcome.
  • Managing appointments and fielding client queries via phone and email.
  • Handling payments and transactions.
  • Keeping our reception and consult areas tidy and stocked.
  • General administration to help keep the clinic running smoothly.

Our full-time members of the team enjoy a four-day working week from 8am-6pm with a one-hour lunch break.
Weekend and evening on call is shared amongst the nursing team.
Our current weekend rotation is one in 6 weekends.
There is flexibility in the on-call roster to shift with what works with your life, and swapping with a colleague is encouraged.
It is important to note that new staff are not expected to start on-call until the nurse feels comfortable and confident in our hospital.

Our Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Compassionate: A love for both animals and people, with a focus on excellent care.
  • Skilled: Great at multitasking, with strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Team-Oriented: Able to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Proactive: Resourceful with a strong work ethic and a desire to keep learning.

What We Offer:

Where are we?

Orange is a prosperous regional city in the Central Tablelands of NSW with a population of approximately 45,000 people. We are a well-known fruit growing district producing great apples and cherries. Orange is now known as one of Australia’s premium cool climate wine regions. The development of Orange as a gourmet food capital has ensured Orange’s status as a prominent tourism destination. Our local food and wine festivals have become must-do events on the NSW tourism timetable.

Orange offers excellent public and private school education, University (Charles Sturt University) and TAFE. Childcare options available, including family day care, modern long day care centres and preschools.

Our community sporting facilities are first class and include an aquatic centre, excellent sporting grounds and indoor facilities. Orange has a mixture of clubs including swimming, athletics, cricket, rugby, triathlon, mountain biking, cycling, hockey, netball and basketball. If art or wine is your scene, rest assured you can find your people here.

In summary, we have great coffee, cafes, night life and casual-fine dining venues. The winters are often accompanied by snow – this makes performing a calving in winter a bit different, but sitting in front of a fire while it is snowing outside is always a cosy feeling that can be experienced in very few cities across the country. Our summers are pretty mild due to our high altitude meaning if is rare to get over 35’C.

The majority of staff here also share a love for our regular coffee run down-town – although not a must on the resume, it is an important part of our daily culture…
